Mr. William Bettendorf, Director of COTTON USA Supply Chain for South Asia, provided valuable insights into the growing success of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol program. \u201cThe Trust Protocol\u2019s exponential growth demonstrates a collective commitment to transparency and\u00a0sustainability,\u201d\u00a0he\u00a0noted.\u00a0\u201cThese\u00a0innovations\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0only\u00a0fortifying\u00a0supply\u00a0chains\u00a0but\u00a0also opening new opportunities for Indian mills and brands.\u201d<\/p>\n

A\u00a0significant\u00a0highlight\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0event\u00a0was\u00a0the\u00a0emphasis\u00a0on Supima\u2019s\u00a0contributions\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0textile industry. The discussions also focused on the impact of removal of import duty on Extra Long Staple cotton.\u00a0This\u00a0policy\u00a0shift\u00a0has\u00a0made\u00a0high-quality\u00a0U.S.\u00a0Pima\u00a0fibre more\u00a0accessible\u00a0to\u00a0Indian\u00a0mills, enhancing their global competitiveness. Experts also noted the growing preference for U.S. Pima cotton, India, this year accounts for more than 40% of U.S Pima export commitment reflecting the demand for superior quality.<\/p>\n

Mr. Peush Narang, Representative of Cotton Council International, opened the event by emphasizing India\u2019s pivotal role in the textile sector. \u201cIndia\u2019s textile industry remains at the forefront of innovation and sustainability, positioning it as a key player in\u00a0shaping the future of global cotton trade,\u201d he remarked.
