Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 7: <\/strong>On July 3rd, noted social worker Smita Thackeray visited Vesave Vidya Mandir (Marathi\u00a0Medium) school as part of her foundation\u2019s ongoing commitment to education and community\u00a0welfare. Through her NGO, Mukkti Foundation, Thackeray distributed essential educational\u00a0supplies to the students, blending her passion for education with grassroots social service.<\/p>\n

Under the \u2018Gyaan Daan\u2019 initiative, school children received uniforms, PT Uniforms, Shoes, notebooks, and textbooks. The aim was to equip them with the necessary resources to start the academic year with confidence and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the initiative, Smita Thackeray said,\u00a0\u201cEducation is true empowerment. When children are provided with the right tools and\u00a0opportunities, their confidence grows, and they can become beacons of hope for society.\u00a0It brings me immense joy to see the happiness on their faces. For real women\u2019s empowerment, it is crucial that young girls receive quality education in a safe and\u00a0nurturing environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

She further emphasized that the innocent smiles on children\u2019s faces are the most rewarding\u00a0moments for anyone engaged in social work. Having visited several schools over the years,\u00a0Smita Thackeray has consistently worked towards improving educational infrastructure and\u00a0supporting underprivileged students. Under her leadership, Mukkti Foundation has undertaken\u00a0initiatives such as adopting schools, renovating them, and regularly distributing educational and\u00a0utility supplies to those in need \u2014 efforts that will continue in the future.<\/p>\n

Spending time with children and celebrating birthdays with them is something Thackeray holds\u00a0close to her heart. She has, in the past, celebrated her birthday with HIV-positive children,\u00a0offering them love, warmth, and support.\u00a0Mukkti Foundation remains dedicated to driving social transformation in key areas such as\u00a0education, health, arts, and women\u2019s empowerment.<\/p>\n

In addition to her philanthropic work, Smita Thackeray currently serves as the Chairperson\u00a0of the Maharashtra State Film Policy Committee. She has also recently launched the \u201cAao\u00a0Bhook Mitayo\u201d campaign, a food donation drive aimed at feeding the underprivileged.<\/p>\n
