Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) [India], December 16: <\/span>Sarveshwar Foods Limited\u2019s (SARVESHWAR | BSE: 543688 | INE324X01026),\u00a0<\/strong>one of India\u2019s leading Basmati rice processors and exporters, today announced that it has received In-Principle Approval from the Jammu & Kashmir Horticulture Produce Marketing & Processing Corporation (JKHPMC) for the implementation of a large-scale Integrated Basmati Cluster Development Project across RS Pora, Samba and Kathua districts.<\/p>\n

The project, approved under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) (Project No. 22), carries a total investment outlay of\u00a0\u20b9197.29 crore and is aimed at transforming the Basmati value chain in Jammu & Kashmir \u2014 from seed to market.<\/p>\n

A Major Boost to J&K\u2019s Basmati Ecosystem<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project will establish modern infrastructure for:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Pre-production & scientific farming
\n\u2022 Post-harvest management & value addition
\n\u2022 State-of-the-art processing facilities
\n\u2022 Branding, logistics and marketing linkages<\/p>\n

This intervention is positioned to significantly elevate the quality, scale and global competitiveness of Jammu\u2019s world-renowned Basmati varieties.<\/p>\n

Project Investment Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n

The total investment of\u00a0\u20b9197.29 crore will be funded through a mix of equity, term loans and HADP financial assistance, enabling large-scale infrastructure creation to support farmers and strengthen the Company\u2019s integrated value chain.<\/p>\n

Key project allocations include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u20b971.14 crore for pre-production & production systems<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u20b957.59 crore for post-harvest management & value addition<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u20b912.74 crore for logistics, branding & marketing<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u20b955.83 crore for other project-related infrastructure<\/p>\n

High Impact on Farmers and Rural Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project will directly benefit farmers across the Basmati belt by:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Increasing yields through scientific seed distribution<\/p>\n

\u2022 Lowering production costs and reducing post-harvest losses<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensuring access to high-demand national and export markets<\/p>\n

\u2022 Providing better storage, aggregation and processing systems<\/p>\n

\u2022 Boosting rural employment and entrepreneurship opportunities<\/p>\n

Under the program, large-scale seed distribution has been planned, covering:<\/p>\n

\u2022 91,254 hectares<\/strong>\u00a0under Basmati (B370)<\/p>\n

\u2022 36,623 hectares<\/strong>\u00a0under CSR 30<\/p>\n

\u2022 52,229 hectares<\/strong>\u00a0under PB 1121 \/ PB 1501 and other premium varieties<\/p>\n

This balanced varietal approach ensures higher productivity while preserving the unique aroma and grain quality of Jammu Basmati.<\/p>\n
