Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 18:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Sasmira\u2019s Institute of Design and Textile (SIDT) in its continuous endeavor to promote design literate human resource pool in today’s competitive market organized Enchant\u00e9 2021 on 17-Sept in Mumbai.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The central theme of the Fashion Collection 2021 was \u2018Art Decoded\u2019. In this annual festival, students were given the opportunity to showcase their designs and collections.\u00a0Dr. Shivram Garje from Mumbai University, Shri Maganlal H. Doshi, President, SASMIRA; Shri. Mihir Mehta, VP, SASMIRA; Dr. U. K. Gangopadhyay, Executive Director, SASMIRA; Dr. Kamal Tandon, Director – Education, SASMIRA<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0were the Guest of Honors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Special Guests were\u00a0Ammit Dolaawat, Indian actor; Rituraj Mohanty, Bollywood Playback Singer and Winner of reality singing show \u2018India\u2019s Raw Star\u2019; Kunal Pandit, Singer, Songwriter, Music Producer, and performer<\/span><\/strong>. Rituraj and Kunal sang some Bollywood songs to encourage the participating students and filled the atmosphere with joy and happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eminent Jury Members present at the event were\u00a0Manali Jagtap (Award-winning fashion designer and political artist); Reshma Bombaywalla (Former Indian model, Jewellery designer); Asif Merchant (Founder & MD of India\u2019s Leading Women\u2019s Fashion footwear brand \u2018CATWALK WORLDWIDE\u2019); Lokesh Kerkar (One of the frontrunners in the Indian visual artist industry)<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were 18 Fashion Show Sequences which was directed by\u00a0Shie Lobo<\/span><\/strong> and his fantastic team to choreograph the sequences with panache and grandeur. <\/span>Uma, Shreya, Shailaja<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0won the title\u00a0\u2018The Most Commercially Viable Collection\u2019<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0for presenting indo western collection portraying the face of today\u2019s urban women;\u00a0Meenakshi, Shilpa<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0won the title\u00a0\u2018The Best Surface Ornamentation\u2019<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0for presenting street style and avant-garde collection using origami art;\u00a0Prithi, Darshana, Rutuja<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0won the title\u00a0\u2018The Best Ramp Appeal\u2019<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0they presented party wear collection by using Klimits geometric and ornamental patterns and\u00a0Gaurav, Imran, Riddhi<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0won the title \u2018The Best Collection Fashion\u2019<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0for presenting uber-cool streetwear collection inspired by the works of famous American painter Jackson Pollock and his signature Drip Technique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shri. Mihir Mehta, VP, SASMIRA<\/strong>\u00a0was of the view that,\u00a0\u201cIn India, the fashion industry is at an infant stage. There are a lot of opportunities when we compare it with other countries. What\u2019s essential is dedication and vision to analyze the opportunity. Our students are very focused and hardworking and our faculties are trying to train them not only in garments and fashion but also about textile, fabrics, yarns and other important aspects\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Krishnendu Datta, Dean SIDT<\/strong>\u00a0said,\u00a0\u201cThe students and faculties of SIDT have worked extremely hard, despite the trying times of pandemic, to put an excellent fashion collection to showcase their design creativity. Enchant\u00e9 2021 celebrates the positive \u2013 \u2018never-say-die’ attitude of Sasmira\u2019s Institute of Design and textiles.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to COVID, entry was restricted to a limited audience on-ground but more than 1400 people participated online; which consisted of council members, industry executives, partners, and parents. The event was very well organized by\u00a0Tefla\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0which is a renowned event management group based in Mumbai.\u00a0Aseem Singh, Director, Tefla\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>said,\u00a0\u201cIt was a challenge and moral responsibility for us to manage and execute the event following government norms laid due to Covid. We are happy that we are successful and looking forward to managing such more events. We wish all the Best to the students of SASMIRA and congratulate all the winners and participants for their precious contribution to the show’s success. \u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
