September 8: Non-Governmental Organizations play a vital role in the development and democracy building of every country. They are instituted primarily to deliver services to underprivileged members of society. Moreover, they also fight for and support human rights and environmental issues and run numerous campaigns for social transformation.

  1. Ranragini Mahila Foundation

ASIFA (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation) is UNESCO supported NGO founded in 1960 in France. ASIFA India is devoted to developing film animation both as an art and also as an effective means of communication. It has been actively working since 22yrs towards the cause of knowledge sharing and promoting animation within India, building a strong sense of community. ASIFA organize and celebrates the International Animation Day festival across India to recognize the art of animation. Sikh Aid was founded on the principles of Sikh teachings, “Naam Japo, Kirat Karo, Vandh Chakho,” and Cuttack, Odisha, in 2020. Still, now it is one of the most famous NGOs, helping many needy people across the country.

Raunak Singh and Satbir Singh were very passionate about helping others from a very young age and have now converted his passion into his aim for life with the help of Sikh Aid. Currently, Sikh Aid is playing an instrumental role in improving the lives of the poor by providing them food free of cost (langars) and ensuring that nobody sleeps hungry. The NGO is also imparting education to many kids of poor families, especially girls from rural areas, as their parents cannot bear the expenses related to school and studies.
