Malick Bodian Wins the GQ award for Best Model 2021
January 29: Malick Bodiane is the Senegalese-Italian top model who has worked with Dior, Hugo Boss, Salvatore Ferragamo. His knack for creating and capturing a very particular beauty brand is undeniable. A 23-year-old model shows his artistry in front of the camera and behind it. He was born and raised in Senegal.
Malick Bodian hits the runway in 2018 at the Valentino Fall. He has walked for Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Dunhill, Berluti, and others in the same season. And he will end the year with a spring walk for Burberry. He notes that his 2018 Givenchy Haute couture look has remained his favorite. He believes in becoming a unique character for every show. He can utilize body language from intense glares to subtle vulnerability to justify his work.
Malick Bodian has been awarded Best Model by GQ, an American international monthly men’s magazine. Malick was nominated for a male model of the year award. He has also appeared for GC magazine’s model of the year award for 2020. He also starred in a cover story for AnOther Magazine, wearing Dunhill’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection. Bodian showcased his work ethic, walking 21 times in 3 different cities in that week alone. Presently he has 28 thousand followers on Instagram.
Malick began to experiment photography through documenting the places he travels to as a model, a lot of countries in Europe, America and Asia.
For him, to understand and capture the other he needed to first capture himself true self-portraiture.
