Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 31: Alpha Music has officially bagged the audio rights of One and a Half, the upcoming Kannada romantic comedy-fantasy with a strong social undertone. This collaboration marks Alpha Music’s first flagship acquisition, positioning the platform as a bold new entrant in the digital entertainment space with a future-facing, creator-first vision.
Founded by Santhosh N R, Alpha Music is emerging as a buzzing, digital-first multimedia platform that goes far beyond the scope of a conventional music label. Designed as an OTT-style content ecosystem, Alpha Music curates and distributes film music, video songs, teasers, trailers, podcasts, original content, web series, dubbed programming, short films, music videos, and creator-led formats under one unified digital umbrella.
With a strong presence across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, JioSaavn, Spotify, Apple Music, and over 30 major digital and social platforms, Alpha Music aims to offer creators a holistic launch-and-sustain model, while delivering audiences a seamless and immersive entertainment experience. The platform places emphasis on music-led storytelling, long-format conversations, and culturally rooted digital content.
Produced by R. Charan, B. Imphana Prasad, Arpith Narayan, Santhosh N R, Manikanth Kadri, and Shreyash Suri, One and a Half reflects the passion and commitment of a strong first-time producer lineup. The film has been crafted with great dedication and care, resulting in high production value and strong creative quality, which became a key reason for Alpha Music to come on board after witnessing the film’s content and making.
Written and directed by Shreyash Suri, who also plays the lead role, One and a Half spans three timelines—the 1990s, 2025, and 2052—blending romance, comedy, fantasy, and social reflection into a single narrative. The film explores themes of emotional responsibility, self-awareness, and preventive thinking, while remaining entertaining and accessible.
The film stars Manvitha Kamath in the female lead, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Sadhu Kokila, Avinash Yelandur, Suchendra Prasad, Sparsha Rekha, Sundar Shree, and Ananthu (Masterpiece), among many others.
The technician-driven team includes Creative Director Mukesh J, DOP R. Devendra, Choreographer Mohan Bhajarangi, and Art Director Siraj Ismail, whose collective craft strengthens the film’s cinematic vision.
Music forms the emotional backbone of One and a Half, composed by The Melody Prince Kadri Manikanth, with lyrics by Shreyash Suri, MC Bijju, Pramod Maravanthe, Santhosh Naik, and Yashas Nag. The soundtrack features vocals by MC Bijju, Balu Belagundi, Aishwarya Rangarajan, Aniruddha Shastry, Supriyaa Ram, Vasushree Halemane, Sri Raj, Gubbi, and Impana Jayaraj, bringing together folk, contemporary, and melodic voices from across Karnataka.
As part of this collaboration, Alpha Music will handle the release and promotion of all audio content from One and a Half, along with curated digital formats. Alpha Music also launches a new podcast titled Open Talk With Shreyash.
